St John’s Resources

The resources available on the St John’s site are summarised below.


Church
A large church with an electric organ and an attractive barrel ceiling. The main body of the
church seats 200 comfortably, but can seat more if required. The interior is welcoming and
flexible. Interlocking chairs (replacing the pews) and a new heating system have been
introduced, and a new kitchen and toilet facilities have been installed in the west end of the
church. The church building can be used for a variety of purposes.
A PA desk is sited at the west end of the church. Digital projector facilities are also linked to PA desk, a projector being permanently attached at east end of church together with rear projection screen
At the east end of the church is a meeting room (Heatherlands room with toilet facilities) and a church office/vicar’s vestry.


Halls and Lounge
The church shares the site with two large halls and a lounge. The two halls are joined, with
the front hall fronting onto Ashley Road. The toilet facilities in the halls and lounge were
upgraded last year, in line with National Day Care standards for the PSN. Separate kitchen
facilities also exist in the halls and lounge.


St John’s Place and Bible Garden
St John’s Place is a paved area on Ashley Road, with benches, that is a popular place for
people of all ages to relax. The Bible Garden comprises the surrounding borders and
shrubbery with a separate garden area at the west end. All contain trees, plants and herbs
found in the Bible. St John’s Place is one of the only open and green spaces on Ashley
Road.



Car Park
There is on site car parking for between twenty and thirty cars. A Car Boot sale is held
monthly in the Car Park (organised by a local disability charity), with the pitch fees split
